Judging from the pictures, they haven`t got a clue how to prepare green tea, and they served it in plastic cups, imagine going to a restaurant and revieving your favourite main course on paper or plastic dishes, it is wrong, and I think they just put the leaf in the kettle, as they would do to teabags, that is just plain blasphemy, that tea, in concentration weak, overbrewed, burnt by the intense heat, and probably they used plain tap water, they tasted something very diffrent from what I could have made with those teas.
I really don`t understand people who pay a lot more for tea than they would for teabags, and they don`t even read the instruction posted by the vendors who sell them, they don`t even think of how it should really be done, it is a waste of good tea, ignorant people shouldn`t buy tea and ruin it. Read the instructions first.

No, no, no... you see, those aren't REALLY paper cups. It's Dixie's new line of Hagi Dixie cups made to just look like traditional paper cups.

The brewing parameters they give are quite close to o-cha instructions. Apparently they read the instructions better than you read their post. They may be "ignorant" but there is no need to be condescending.

BREWING
How you prepare your green tea has everything to do with the way it tastes. 1 heaping teaspoon to 8 ounces water. Brewing time is very short (and you'll find which is best for you). But 1 to 2 minutes tops--any longer and it'll be so bitter you won't be able to drink it. I do 30 seconds or so, and then by taste. Also, I learned that if you use boiling water, the tea may become more bitter, so boil the water, then let it sit a few minutes so it cools to about 165-170 degrees. Enjoy!

There are instructions on the back of that Yutaka Midori, if they followed those then it should have turned out good. Yeah, paper cups are not really great but it's still do-able for a taste test. I also sent them Miyabi.

People who use paper cups, use the kettke for brewing pourpouse, back in my early teadrinker days I brewed tea in a kettle too, fortunately someone opened the first teahouse in town around 7 years ago, and I learned from them, and visited other teahouses... anyway I am writing this because I was a beginner too, and if they like tea sooner or later they will become interested to develop their technique, and maybe in a few years they will be typing interesting posts here on teachat.

Ick, paper/wax cups are disgusting, especially to taste tea out of! I hate drinking water out of those, come on, it's Martha Stewart radio, they have enough dough to put it at least in a GLASS.
