How to get tea stains off of a porcelain cup?
I have a very slight stain near the bottom of the cup in the shape of a ring and I have no idea how to get rid of it. I have tried dish soap and a sponge but that does not work. The cup is porcelain...

Vinegar or bleach solution, allow it to soak if needed. Maybe a slightly more abrasive sponge pad.

Try some hot water and Oxiclean and let it soak overnight--- works like magic usually.
Mmmm or maybe try some vinegar. Hot, hot water, vinegar and a long soak.
Or maybe Bar Keeper's Friend + a Dobie pad. Love me some Dobie's!

I bid you luck!

Baking soda / powder paste.
You can use denture cleaner or some other sort of oxygen bleach if that's not enough, but most times, that should do it.
Sometimes just a microfiber cloth and hot water will work too.

Is it that hard? I very often don't wash my cup to perfect clean (well I do 80% clean) since it will be stained soon anyway. But if accumulated stain is that hard to clean, I guess I had better maintain my cup cleaner

Or you can take my girlfriend's approach and just not clean them at all.

If you take this approach you may be able to save on tea: the patina will impart enough flavor after a while!wyardley wrote:Or you can take my girlfriend's approach and just not clean them at all.

Good God wyardley!
Have you gently explained to her that only Yixing clay is supposed to be fed and seasoned?

My tea tray sometimes is at that level, but I use a bamboo one which helps hide stain
