Vanilla Oolong made with oolong from Taiwan. Just wasn't my cup of tea; the quality probably wasn't really bad; I just didn't like it.

I think the worst tea i had recently is at Starbucks. Not sure what teabag it is, tasted flowerish minty. Not nice.

It was a Tie Guan Yin I bought in a Chinese grocery store. 250 g nicely vacuum packed for about $7.-. No aroma, no flavor, nothing, just colored the water. Guess one gets what one pays for.

I decided it was worth trying some samples of decaf tea so I could have something besides herbal in the evening. The darjeeling decaf was the worst, the assam so-so.

I had no bad tea this month. I had some less than marvelous brewings of otherwise good teas, but no random tea bags at buffets or meetings to brew up horrid and bitter.
Starting today with some very nice Jade Pole green tea from Yunnan Sourcing while prepping a whole thermos of some Haiwan purple sheng puerh form Norbu for the day's events.

Other.
Any tea is better than no tea.
There is only good tea... and less good tea.

While I can definitely see your point here, you could also think of it as the "least good tea" for the month... just sayin'.JBaymore wrote:Other.

For me, it was definitely some weird flavored black blend from a new coffee/tea store in town: I kept driving by it and said "I have to stop in and see what they have," because you never know, they might be awesome, and actually said they had looseleaf tea. No, turns out they have 5 kinds of tea - 1 mint herbal, 1 rooibos, lapsang souchong, this flavored black that didn't even have a description of what it was, and "japanese green" (but nothing more specific). I opted for the flavored black, and 3 minutes later I had the worst tea I've had in a long time. Needless to say, their focus is entirely on coffee, and I'll never be going back there (since I can't drink coffee).
No tea yet, haven't been downstairs yet! Must have something tasty though, to get the memory of that awful tea out of my head.

Lotus flavored "green tea", the leaves are really high quality and whatnot, but it's got such a strong unnatural flavor... bleh!

The worst was some Nilgiri Chamraj Estate tea that I found tucked away at work. It wasn't great when I bought it, and definitely hasn't improved with age. Bitter, bitter stuff!
Enjoying some much more delicious Grand Qimen this morning.

I had a pu ehr this month that tasted like ammonia. Didn't like that very much.
Deep into the shincha Yutaka Midori again this morning. Now there's a brew that doesn't disappoint.

It was a toss-up for me between the Lipton tea bags that I had to drink at two pizza places over the past couple weeks, and an odd-tasting concoction resulting from flavored tea not washing out of a cup all the way. I opted for the second because I was expecting the Lipton tea to disappoint me while the other was an unpleasant surprise. (Basically, the girlfriend was over and she wanted to try this berry-flavored green tea that one of my friends had given me, which I disliked and had not been drinking. After she was done drinking, I washed out the cup... A lot... The next day, I made some genmaicha and used the same cup, but the berry flavoring hadn't washed out!
)
Currently drinking some pu-erh with magnolia petals. Mmm.

It wasn't this month, but I had a loose-leaf pu that was awful some time ago. I couldn't tell whether it was sheng or shu because it tasted like nothing.
This month's worst was a barbeque-flavored mate blend.
