Greetings from Austria

Hello all,

I am Marco and I am from Austria.
About 3 months ago I only knew tea in bags from the supermarket.
But we have some tea-lovers at work and from talking I got curious.
I am always into the good things in life an so I started with a matcha and a gyokuro. Hey and I have to say - I am addicted

I like to inform myself about things I love and so I "googled" for everything about tea in the internet. Found a really nice blog that is unfortunately abandoned. (anotherteablog - for those who want to know)
And this led me to teachat.
I am reading for about three weeks now and I decided to join and share my experiances.
Be sure I will ask a lot of questions.

I hope we will go on the chado together for some time.

Yesterday has been a lucky day - finaly got my package from Den's. And no taxation on it - means more budget for more tea
Opened the sampler and had to try genmaicha with matcha.
Hmmm - I don't know if I like the poppy ricy taste in genmaicha. I am really not sure. Will give it a second try today.

A question: Where to write reviews about vendors? And where to write reviews about tea? I think I'd like to give it a try.

Marco, the genmaicha can take a little getting used to, but approach it more casually and you will find it to be a nice relaxing alternative that is also lower in caffeine.

I actually roast my own rices which adds a whole other dimension.

Yesterday has been my second genmaicha expedition.
So - yes I think you have to get used to that rice-taste. Something like popcorn to your tea.

And it smells - yea fine - but intense. My whole room smelled for hours - and this with my window open.
Gave me three infusions. Don't think a fourth is worth it.
But I think a little bit lower than boiling water would be good. I will play.
