TeaArt08, Lovely pieces. In the photos the dots come out a bit strong. Do they in the flesh?

Re: Celadon Show and Tell
Are you referring to the dots on the flowers of pieces or just the dots on the translucent green celadon? After you asked I did realize the black dots do show stronger in the picture than in plain sight.ethan wrote:TeaArt08, Lovely pieces. In the photos the dots come out a bit strong. I have a particular fondness for the unique jeweled hue of Korean celadon and the wonderful art of the Korean makers there. So much was almost lost due to the Japanese occupation and forbidding of traditional art.

I refer to the dots on the flowers. I haven't seen Korean celadon. I like Thai celadon & own quite a bit of green, some blue, & a 2 pieces of white, but none like yours.

Well, my old ash glaze recipe needs adjustment.. this wasn't supposed to be a glossy celadon, but it is!

Re: Celadon Show and Tell
Happy crackly outcome, with bit of seafoam at the rim, even if it was 'supposed' to be different!

Oh, but it's a beauty, oceanic.Saladin wrote:Well, my old ash glaze recipe needs adjustment.. this wasn't supposed to be a glossy celadon, but it is!

But it's so beautiful! I'd say no adjustment necessary.Saladin wrote:Well, my old ash glaze recipe needs adjustment.. this wasn't supposed to be a glossy celadon, but it is!
Re: Celadon Show and Tell
bought this from Roy Fong of Imperial tea court in 2005-06?
very nice celadon texture, although there was no information on the maker/source whatsoever.. probably taiwanese

Re: Celadon Show and Tell
Homemade Celadon (at least the inside)! I've been taking a pottery class for about a year and this is my favorite yunomi thus far. A little bit of crackle is finally showing courtesy of some shou pu erh (though this is my all-purpose workhorse cup). I'm not sure how to upload pictures on the forum so here's an album: http://imgur.com/a/0g2bC
Re: Celadon Show and Tell
This is part of my Xu De Jia celadon collection. I love the color. The crackle is still barely showing, even on the older pieces, and I like it that way.
