Once again, welcome everyone to TeaDay. Do drop in and share what is in your cups today, all day!!!
Yesterday's voting indicated very clearly that Darjeeling and Assam were the top Indian region tea producers for most TeaChatters. You can still vote and discuss this topic. However compared to around 2 years ago, Darjeeling has jumped in popularity here.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic may be a little more challenging, but hopefully one we can learn from it as well. It seems that Indian teas are so easy to know. Almost every Indian tea is labeled where it is from, such as Darjeeling. The same cannot be said for Chinese teas. Don't ask me why! There are many tea producing provinces in China, yet most of them many of us have never even heard of, what is produced there, or where our fave Chinese teas are from.
Today, the poll includes hopefully all the major and minor producing provinces. Here are some links as well to help you discover where a tea you may like is from.

I hope you are able to learn a little today as we share our cups. Bottoms up.

Being a white tea fanatic, I had no choice but to vote for Fujian. So I did.
Planning an excursion into non-Fujian oolong today.

Had to vote none here, but not because of lack of interest--although Tuesday I only drank some lovely puerh from Yunnan, I love chinese teas from Yunnan (greens, golden black tea, puerh, even oolongs); Zhejiang (anji white tea, long jing); Anhui (hou kui); Fujian (Yin Zhen, Bai Mu Dan, TGY, Wuyi); Jiangsu Bi Lo Chun; Guangdong Phoenix oolongs & Dan congs.
I refuse to choose between Fujian and Yunnan, so have to enter 'none' again, because I picking between TGY and puerh is just wrong.

Guangdong for dan cong, but it was a tough call, Fujian and its wuyi yan cha being not far behind.

Yunnan all the way for me. I'm sure there's some crappy tea made there, but I hadn't found it yet.

Anhui for Keemun - Guandong close second - then Yunnan.

Gotta go with Fujian on this one, though Yunnan is definitely up there. But there are so many types that I enjoy from Fujian - oolong, TKY, wuyi, and white tea! - (apparently - thanks for the map, Chip!!), that it edges out the one kind of Yunnan I've had - which I will probably drink all day at work.

So far I have no tried a Yunnan tea I didn't like!
Yunnan Gold in my cup this morning.

I can't say I have tried teas from all these regions, but yunnan will be on top for me. I drink some every day.
Fujian a close second. In fact, this is how I started my tea day today - yunnan black on wakeup, fujian TKY in my cup now.

Hunan.
The Hunan restaurant I used to go to had the best tea and food compared to any other Chinese restaurant I've ever been to.

I voted Anhui because I've really been digging the Keemuns lately. But I also like some Hunan and Yunnan teas.
TeaSource Peppermint Twist this morning, which has Keemun tea, peppermint leaves and rosehips. I'm hoping the rosehips will help fend off the "ickies" that have been going around my workplace this week!
