I have a large cup of "Prince of Peace" white tea with stevia every morning. It helps me get through my first 6 hour shift.

I have had excellent silver needle from jingteashop.com, and from theculturedcup.com (most of their teas are not listed on the website, but drop them a line and they'll get it fixed up for you). I've had some quite delightful non-traditional silver needle-type teas (different provinces of origin, slightly different flavor profiles) from norbutea.com as well.

Bai Hao Yinzhen from DTH, very very sweet, one long infusion for me with white teas. I want to try the same from jingteashop, teaspring and amazingreentea to compare the quiality because this is very good.

Another day started with non-sencha, enjoying some Silver Needle from Jing Tea Shop with my jam and toast. Mmmmm.

Not from today, but I was slow to finish up a few of these.
Fuding Ye Fang Bai Cha - 2011 Spring Fujian Semi-Wild White Tea by Norbu
First time drinking this one--a free sample with a large recent order.
3 grams, six ounce glass pot, water 150 degrees
60"—probably a little short, given the small quantity of leaf—but delicious infusion, floral, sweet, fruity, like drinking peaches, very nice
165 degrees and probably 3 minutes—got distracted, but it’s good to ‘push’ a tea on first testing, right? Still quite tasty, fruity, stronger than I really prefer, but nothing unpleasant revealed by the overlong infusion.
180 degrees and several minutes again, liquor is becoming light amber, quite floral and fruity still, though not so strong or sweet as at first. I like this quite a lot. I kept at it for a few more extended infusions, and it gradually faded very pleasantly.
The iced version was also very good. I put more of this in my saved shopping cart for next time.

I just finished my cup of silver needle-- this one was borderline too grassy for me (I generally avoid strongly grassy flavors in anything), but I enjoyed it. I probaby won't buy it again but it wasn't a total miss either.

Grassy? SN should not be "grassy?"CasualConnoisseur wrote:I just finished my cup of silver needle-- this one was borderline too grassy for me (I generally avoid strongly grassy flavors in anything), but I enjoyed it. I probaby won't buy it again but it wasn't a total miss either.
Where did you get it, and how did you brew it?

Finishing some Yunnan Silver Needle white tea tonight, enjoying it out of my Petr Novak Chawan. It's a wonderful combination of tea and vessel.
