Re: Official what White/Yellow are you drinking right now?
The first loose leaf tea I ever enjoyed (skipping tea bags completely) was jasmine. I still enjoy it, especially the Rishi jasmine silver needle - a good silver needle properly 'infused' with jasmine aroma. Today I'm brewing it in a greenwood gaiwan in a cheerful spring green.

I'm not big into white tea but I'm really liking the Gu Shu Yinzhen sample I got from Hojo tea. Very tasty!

From Shangrilla Estates, Nepal. I drink this often & post sometimes. This morning I used leaves that had run the full course of rounds last evening. I had left them in the pot & was lazy waking up; so, a long untimed infusion has yielded a cup of decent tea close to the black tea from Nepal that I drink. I've never had such a dynamic tea as this.
JRS22, please let us know how you like the sample of Jun Chiyabari's white that you are getting from Tea Trekker.

Taking a break from my Himalayan diet with some nicely aged 2008 FuDing Shou Mei in a celadon gaiwan. While this particular cake doesn't have quite the complexity, dynamics and the psychophysiological oomph of some of my younger bai cha there's still lots going on here, especially in the qi department. I can't remember a tea with such a deeply calming and relaxing effect on my entire system as this one and some few other aged Shou Meis in my stash.

I had some 2014 Shou Mei with a buddy last night. I wasn't too happy with that tea when I got it about six months ago but it has matured into something much more enjoyable in the meantime.

I'm currently drinking a silver needle described only as "yunnan silver needles white tea".
I usually stick with gong fu brewing but I was really tired and decided to try a "lazy" method tonight. Since this tea stands up so well to repeated infusions, I put the leaves in an insulated glass tumbler that functions as a brew-and-go travel infuser (with a filter at the top to keep the leaves in), poured in water which was heated to a lower temp than what I would use for gong fu, and just let the leaves in there to steep indefinitely while I drank it.
This turned out much better than I expected! So much that I might save the gong-fu brewing for greens from now on, and stick with the add leaves, water, and go method for the Yunnan silver needle whites.

Feng Qing Wild White (2016) from Hojo. Very nice tea, smooth with an incredible aftertaste. And I'm sweating.

Enjoying Bai Mu Dan from Norbu, a 2013 harvest package that slipped to the back of the box, but has held up remarkably well. Floral, fruity, a touch of spice. Mmmm.

Some Gu Shu Lincang Yunnan Yin Zhen from Hojo. Very tasty, and the second 5 min steep Western Style is nearly as flavorful as my first 4 min steep.

I love this tea! Bought it so many times, still keep buying every few months. Low price and really high quality.joelbct wrote: Some Gu Shu Lincang Yunnan Yin Zhen from Hojo. Very tasty, and the second 5 min steep Western Style is nearly as flavorful as my first 4 min steep.
I found out this tea brew well with water at 90 C° .. what temperature do you use for brewing it?
Re: Official what White/Yellow are you drinking right now?
It had been so long since I made white tea I had to look it up I did 185 F (85 C) 1st infusion, 190 F (88 C) 2nd infusion.

I had some of Adagio's Hunan Gold today and I'm a fan. It's a lot like Teavana's Golden Dragon, which was also a pretty nice yellow tea. Anyone else ever have this one before?
