Greetings TeaPeeps. It's Sunday and the start of a new week for TeaDay. Please drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day. Also discuss the day's topic, or any other topic that is on your mind.
Also, the "incredibly exciting event that was to begin Friday right here that will rock your TeaWorld" will have to wait a few days. But don't go far, YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS THIS!!!
Yesterday's discussion topic was about drinking tea virtually everyday. Please continue to discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Are you currently using only 1 or more than 1 cup per day for your tea enjoyment? Please share.
We are looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone ... Bottoms up!

Re: Sunday TeaDay 6/26/11 Different cups for Different Teas
Generally at least 2 cups, because I generally drink tea at home and at work...or, if I am at home the whole day, as on a weekend, several different teas suggest different sizes and styles of cups.
Today, one large yunomi for sencha, one medium cup for Dong Ding oolong, one medium cup for Dan Cong, one small cup for Liu An.

I quite always use a different cup for each tea session during the day.

Same cup all day, and usually the same tea as well.
Enjoying some very summery First Love today. It's a fine white tea mixed with small, delicate rosebuds. Recommended.

Re: Sunday TeaDay 6/26/11 Different cups for Different Teas
Like debunix, I've got different cups at home and at work. I have one seigan cup at work ('mug' sized) plus about three chawan. At home I have a greater variety, but I usually am using only one or two each evening. Weekends just go wild.

Re: Sunday TeaDay 6/26/11 Different cups for Different Teas
It really depends on the mood. A few small cups, a large one... I can spend a few days with the same cup or change several times a day. Of course, it depends on the tea too. I only use specific cups for sencha.
Saemidori fukamushi shincha from Kagoshima to start the day. So sweet...
After that, continuing yesterday's dong ding, using these two very small galaxy guinomi.

Usually 3-4 different ones, a chawan for matcha, a sencha cup, and sometimes a a glass for chinese tea or a smaller cup for oolong or pu-erh.

Just stopping in to say that my "Rock" hagi and Petr Novak kyusu made a very striking pair this morning for the daily sencha. The Yuzamashi pitcher was sad, however, as it was not required for this particular pairing.
No photos this am, but yesterday had some fun with a photo setup that started with a photogenic melon, and ended with the discovery of stunning new crackles on my little Seong-il pot.

Beautiful wares David! Thank you for sharing.
Usually a different cup with each tea, usually. Then an evening/night cup for SLT. So usually 2-4 different cups each day.
Great TD start, YM from the O-C with the Mrs.
However nothing since then as we are away for the day with family, and I forgot to make any TeaProvisions.

Re: Sunday TeaDay 6/26/11 Different cups for Different Teas
At least two. When I'm at school, two is all I have, but I often drink iced tea while I'm waiting for my hot tea to cool down to the point where it won't scald my mouth.
So I use an extra cup. When I'm at home, I have access to more cups, so I go a little crazy with my choices... The good thing about only having two cups at school is that I only have to wash two cups!
Yunnan black tea this morning; iced green tea during the afternoon; currently drinking a very yummy chrysanthemum tisane.

Re: Sunday TeaDay 6/26/11 Different cups for Different Teas
This is a definite problem at work, where I rarely stop to wash teawares during the day....and sharing a pot of green tea in the morning, a thermos of oolong in the afternoon, and then some solo puerh in the evening could yield two dirty gaiwans, one dirty kamjove, one or two cups, a pitcher, and a thermos....Skippyandjif wrote:The good thing about only having two cups at school is that I only have to wash two cups!
So far this work afternoon/evening, one gaiwan (yunnan mao feng from Norbu), one kyusu (Sichuan yellow tea from Norbu), only one cup, but about to start dirtying a 2nd kyusu with some puerh to finish the paperwork nightmare.
Re: Sunday TeaDay 6/26/11 Different cups for Different Teas
It honestly depends on the day, and what mood I feel like when choosing out the items I wish to use. Though I will say I rarely use the same cup for 2 different teas in a single day. So if its a day I have two teas I use at least 2 cups.
