Tea Masters has got an 80s zhu ni pot for sale:

What is your first impression?

I can't really afford it but owning at least one master's pot is high on my list.

I noticed this pot on Stephane's blog recently and wanted to ask how much it was. It's good I didn't!
OMG, $2575...
I recently asked Guang of HouDe about zhu ni pots from 60's. And he told me he sells them for $400 - $600.
The Stephane's pot is from 80's and costs so much more. Is it made by some famous master?
I also think it raises the question how anyone can be sure the zhu ni pot he buys is authentic. Especially when buying on-line. It seems the price tells nothing at all.

Serg,

If you buy something from a good vendor, they should take back anything you think is NOT what they say it is. If this is possible, then the problem becomes yours to determine if it is genuine or not. So, I always ask the buyer if they know enough to confidently spend that kind of money. The Yixing market is primarily a Chinese one and within that culture, the criteria for mark, age, and, maker, not to mention shape, clay, and, workmanship, are a special study in itself.

Tead Off,
You are absolutely right. I just feel a bit frustrated :( They are both very good vendors and I am very happy with the purchases I made in their stores. On the other hand, I've been collecting google facts on Yixing for two years already and I still can not tell a $600 pot from $2500 one. So what should I do? It seems that another couple of years of googling won't be more productive. Yixing is just too complicated  But you know that every tea lover needs a lao zhu ni pot badly. Tea vendors make us want the pots badly

I'm afraid I don't have this problem of having to have an expensive Yixing teapot. I'm only interested in Yixing as far as making tea goes, not in collecting. For yourself, you live in Siberia with no chance of seeing or handling many different yixing pots. Your learning curve is all words. In this area, words will not guarantee that you discover a treasure that you can afford. In fact, if you buy that pot that costs $600 and it doesn't brew your favorite tea as you would like it to, what is the point? You have to decide what you really want and what you are really interested in. No tea vendor has ever made me want any teapot! If I say yixing ware is mostly myth, many will argue vociferously. I just laugh. If you were in Asia and had access to a decent selection of pots, you would buy a few pots at a decent price for the type of teas you drink and would be finished with all this speculation. Yixing is mostly a rich man's game. Keep your life simple. It's all in your mind! Find yourself a wonderful girl and introduce her to the joys of oolongs. :D

"Yixing is just too complicated "

Agreed. Others think that a decent mid-level pot/ pots will get you the results you need?

Just to notice, Zhunis were rarely made during Factory-1 year (55~97)

Ming dynasty Zhuni we can't get, early-mid Qing Zhunis are very expensive, pots on the market are late-Qing~ROC Zhunis, very decent stuffs but I don't think there is a chance to get it under 1000 bucks.

During 8~90's there was Yixing craze in Taiwan, so they ordered Zhuni pots directly from Yixing, not Factory-1 stuff (no Zhuni in Factory-1), some are decent ones, price not very high though. :)

Can you often find these teapots in China? Or is it just once in awhile?
Here in Bangkok, I can find old zhuni, Qing/ROC, but, not very cheap. No Taiwan pots here but 90's red clay can find. Hard to say if they are pure zhuni or mixed. Sometimes very reasonable price but not easy to find.
