Red blossom yixing teapots.

by Randee1515 » Sep 19th, '12, 18:19

Hi, guys. I am a fan of red blossom, and a while back, I noticed that all of their pots were disappearing. There is one left, and I'm just wondering if they are planning to commission some more. Thanks!

I'm not sure if anyone around here would know for sure or not.

Have you tried contacting them directly?

I wrote in asking if any of the smaller yixings were still available at the shop if not online and received this reply:

"I'm glad you're enjoying the 702 pot! Currently, the pots on our website are the only yixing pots we have in stock. They are what's left of about 20 styles that we commissioned last year. We are working to commission a new round of pots, including some smaller pots, but we probably won't see them until 2013. Style 700 is our smallest yixing pot at the moment, it holds around 150ml (a little more than your 702 pot)."

I apologize for reviving an old topic, but I'm actually the person who wrote this reply to you way back when.

A lot has happened at Red Blossom since September. When I responded to you we were working on commissioning a new round of pots, but Peter (the tea/teaware buyer) has since left to start his own tea business and the yixing order fell through. Red Blossom is now under new management and if they bring in a new round of yixing pots you can assume it has nothing to do with the last commission.

Thanks for the update pithy. I have fond memories of my visit to Red Blossom when I visited San Fran back in 2011!

Not sure if you still work for them, but hope you can provide more info on the new management. I'm sure many on this forum will be curious to know if the quality of the tea and teaware will be changing.

I bought my Red Blossom yixing because Tinkjunkie had seen and handled the pots. Thats the value of a b&M store.

I have liked everything I have ordered from Red Blossom so I did some Googling:
