My question is about Korean teaware, if anyone knows a source to purchase a tea set of traditional brown Korean onggi-ware (like Kimchi-pots style)? I am interested to find a 2- or 3- person set, including pot, water-cooler bowl, and cups (though just pot and cooler would be preferrable also). It would need brewing capacity to maybe approximately 140 ml.
I asked one of my Korean teachers about it once, he said he wasn't sure but he did tell me that I would need to find out which artisans use traditional glazes. He told me that nowadays, there are some onggi potters who, for more cost-effective purpose, they use modern glazes that may have some toxic chemicals to them. If anyone has anymore information about this, I would like to know. Thank you.
Edit: if anyone is curious what I intend this particular onggi set to be for, it is to be 'hwang balhyocha-designated' wares.
