As many agree, glazed porcelain or glass is best for green teas, since there is no loss of aromatics to pores in your pot/cup, and I've found this to be true for greener oolongs, including the Taiwanese high mountain kind. I have a small porcelain pot (gongfu size) that I use on the road, but didn't take it along on my last trip. I bought an infuser mug in Taiwan and had outstanding results using it to brew high mountain oolong by preheating, rinsing and then brewing and drinking all in one.
I think this may be because the infuser basket allowed for greater leaf expansion, and I could control the brewing time more precisely (just lift the basket out). The tea also stayed hotter since I didn't have to pour it into another container. Anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

I don't like infuser mugs in general but it's make since that the more the green you go the better suited it is , in my humble opinion greens tend to give the taste easier so it less critical for them expend over the all vessel .

I don't generally like infuser mugs either but I'm very fond of my korean celadon style one (I use it for traveling also) - it's all ceramic so no plastic or metal, and the basket is really large, elbow room for plenty of leaf and quick drainage. At home I just use teapots or gaiwan now, but quite honestly that mug does a really good job with many greens and oolongs.
