Do you think anyone has bought it yet?... When I grow up, and am as rich as Bill Gates I'll buy it. Gotta get out of college first.

I'd like to know what exactly went into that tea set to warrant that price!

Magic

by filiagro » Aug 7th, '06, 10:51

It must be magic. It's full of pixy dust or something similar to make the best cup of tea ever made every time...or something like that.

It better have artificial intelligence and be fully automated so it always knows what tea you want and makes it when you want it automatically

Hahaha! The pot is yixing - you'd only ever be able to make ONE type of tea in it! All that money and you can only use it with one tea!

As for the reason for the price, it looks like its being sold as an art piece ("production limited to 99 copies, plus 3 author's proofs. available exclusively through max protetch gallery"), which means its a toy for rich people to buy cuz they don't know what else to do with their money.

Good find, though!

You'd think they could shove a few more pictures in there for a 70k purchase!

Wow. That's excessive. I had to wonder if they had listed ithe price in some other currency other than US Dollars.

for $70K it had better make a perfect cup every time for every type of tea and keep it consistently at the correct temperature...and massage your fingertips too!
