Just take the plunge. You know the risks involved when buying Yixing online. The pots look OK on screen.
Personally I would go for a cheap one, if good then a winner if not, well at least it didn't break your Bank a/c.

Never have, but the second one (the three-footed shui ping) looks ok for the price... if you need a 195ml pot that is.

I have a working relationship with Leo, the guy who launched TeaHong. He's quite serious about quality, and goes through a lot of effort to source all his stuff. His website has a few articles on the subject: http://teaguardian.com/yixing-teapot-fe ... huEUH-0Sjc
He has a video about Yixing ergonomics on YouTube here: http://youtu.be/SVi-GcoBkx4
So, while the evidence is circumstantial, and I haven't run an analysis of his pots (out of my budget for now), the amount of effort presented on the subject (on his website and forum) leads me to believe it's all on the level.

I was just perusing his site recently in my endless quest for gaiwans with koi motif (humor me) - how's his tea? The blog is fun to read and he seems an appealing, genuine person.
Plus, koi gaiwan.

Hi, I am the shopkeeper of Yixing teapot web shop: http://zishayixing.com, Welcome to visit my web shop, I am Yixing native, I definitely promise that what you see is what you get here.bagua7 wrote:Just take the plunge. @bagua, there is a misunderstanding when you ordered from me about 2 years ago, I admit I was wrong about that problem pot and waste you a lot of time, also it is the biggest lesson for me to take since I open this web shop.
So, in order to rebuild the confidence about my shop, I provide 7 day refund or exchange on Yixing teapot upon you received the products, if you are not happy for the quality, just show me the photo, if the problem was my product's mistake I will take care of the shipping cost.
Before I make the delivery, I will post the product and package image in my blog: http://yixing-teapot.com, sure I won't expose any of customer's privacy, and my customers' feedbacks are also welcomed!
PS: In the checkout process, there is a facebook/twitter/G+ like 5% off offer in the web page, enjoy the click, and I am sure you won't disappointed on my service and I will work hard to complete the order.

His tea is great. Up front, I am biased, as it was TeaHong that got me into buying real tea, and TeaGuardian that, prior to TeaHong's opening, educated me about the subject. But, I have never found anything I've bought from him unappealing in terms of quality, finish, etc.kikula wrote:I was just perusing his site recently in my endless quest for gaiwans with koi motif (humor me) - how's his tea? He also takes QC seriously. In the past, he has simply stopped doing business with any farmers who don't pass EU pesticide standards.
The only thing I dislike lately was that he had to switch bag types. His older ones were larger, but a bad run left a lot of us with seams along the back that were weak and split quickly. He switched to a new form of bag that doesn't use the same design, but they are smaller and hold less tea. The prices fell accordingly, and in some cases are actually cheaper per unit now, but I miss my big bag of "Congou Rustic"

Leo's certainly a very entrepreneurial type, though. He spends a lot of his time doing ground work for sourcing and trade, so he's not very active on the forums. I catch him on FB at times, but between his political activism and his business dealings, he is very busy.
If you're familiar with the "MingCha" brand, he started that up years back.

That's good to know, MEversbergII, thanks. I may give him a try next tea-purchase round. Just noticed, you're a neighbor. Nice to know that someone else in this town drinks tea.

I recently took an early retirement (I was in upstate NY, near Ithaca), built an apartment onto my daughter and son-in-law's house near Perry Hall and moved here - a blissful arrangement all 'round. I have tea every day with my little granddaughter, very wonderful!
I'm an old Bawmer girl, it's a homecoming. Lots of time for tea; lots of time for every good thing. I never did introduce myself up there, but here I am. Wonderful forum, I spend an inordinate amount of time perusing old conversations here - immensely helpful and fun!

Good luck with your Yixing pots business.
