Unsure of a gift tea set

by flazky » Feb 5th, '15, 11:57

Hey guys!

Im new to the forum and ive been drinking tea for awhile but have little knowledge of the different brands and higher end teas.

I recently received a gift from an uncle and im just curious as to what this is worth. Im not one to really be able to enjoy this so if its valuable, Id rather save it for later!

here are some pictures:

Looks like the first image is reversed, but seems to say dahongpao (大红袍), which is a Wuyi oolong (the most famous name to the point where it's used in a generic way sometimes). Looks like typical gift packaging. I don't recognize the specific maker; the quality is likely to be at least acceptable.

Ah yes. I had to flip the image on my phone because it was backwards when I took the photo
