Haven't tried it yet. The first time I had Rishi I was thoroughly disappointed (2 years ago), but since then I have found that the tea quality has improved. There instructions are whacked I remember some green I got from them it said 2 tablespoons per 8 oz and infuse for 5 minutes. Yeah 175 is too hot you would probably miss out on the sweetness and just get the vegetal flavor.

I wouldn't go above 160 F for the first infusion, with gyokuro. Also, use more leaf than you would with sencha.

For a good gyokuro, 135°F (55°C), sometimes even lower temperature, is a good starting point.
I wouldn't buy such an expensive gyokuro from a shop that gives with such poor brewing instructions.

I had seen this for there earlier gyokuro and then the recommendation of 160* for many of their sencha. I am confused why the gyokuro recommendation is hotter than the sencha.
I might drop them a line out of curiousity.

Which is still LOWER than the 175* they recommend for gyokuro, which is my point. I did say many, not all.
