My name is Joshua, and I have recently gained a great interest in tea! Basically, for the past 4 months, I have been drinking nothing but water. The reason is because I wanted to cut out a lot of the things in sodas that are man-made, and bad for your body. Well, one late night, I started thinking about green tea and its health benefits, looked online for tea, found out about Adagio, and the next morning I bought a good selection of teas.
Well, besides that, I recently turned 18, living in Virginia, and trying to decide what to do in college (looking towards a medical career). A big part of my life is music. If I am awake, chance are I'm listening to music (like right now). My favorite genre is metal (folk, black, thrash, and viking mainly). I'm also interested in tattoos and other body modifications, and I should be getting one soon. I'm hoping the negative associations with tattoos and other modifications will become a thing of the past one day soon.

Some metal is considered to be "Viking" metal because of different factors, which ranges from traditional folk instruments, to a certain distinct sound. A good amount of the time, its a mix of black and folk. One of the first "Viking metal" bands was Bathory.

I haven't heard the full album, just one or two songs off of it. Its a shame the band is no more after just one full album, they had great potential.
I've been listening to Baptism quite a bit. They create a good atmosphere with their music (well, its actually just one person now).

Out of all the sub-genres of metal, the one I'm lacking in is power metal. Any recommendations Cinnamon Kitty?

I've been listening to Blind Guardian, Dream Theater, Evergrey, and Jorn Lande lately. Anything with Jorn Lande is generally good (Masterplan, Ark, his solo stuff, collaborations, etc). He has an incredible voice. Some others that I've listened to previously are Sonata Arctica, Symphony X, Kamelot, Edguy, Avantasia, and Ayreon. Welcome, Joshua! I may have to check out some of the music in this thread. My tastes tend toward industrial metal/rock -- Ministry, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM -- but I like lots of different things and I'm always willing to find new bands to like.

Ah, well you have a point. I guess I should have said more natural, as in no dyes for coloring and no pre-added artificial sweeteners. I'm basically trying to get away from things that are added into things that are bad for your body (which as you said, comes from consuming too much of it).silverneedles wrote:in general things are unhealthy because of abuse

tea goes thru alot of hands and processing before it ends up sold... so tea is man made.
without man tea would be just a green leaf plant growing wild, eaten by bugs and bears.

I use to listen to KMFDM and Ministry awhile back. I haven't heard much of anything from them in a few years now, so I guess I might check back into them!

I do listen to Dream Theater, Symphony X and Ayreon a bit (more of Ayreon than DT and SX). I've been meaning to check into Blind Guardian because I have heard a few songs from them which were great, but haven't gotten around to it. I have never heard of Jorn Lande before, so I'll check him out! I see that he has worked with Yngwie Malmsteen, so that's a plus.
