My ham fisted attempts were poor, but my Schoolteacher (Barry Gregson) spent his summer vacations helping out with Bernard Leach.
One of our Teaware Artisans had a blog with a link to a link that brought some Bernard Leach on youtube to my notice.

I don't know which was the more fascinating watching him work, listening to his voice or catching glimpses of what looks like 1950's vehicles through the window.
Bernard brought a national living treasure from Japan, to collaborate in England with him for many years, the potter Shoji Hamada.
Barry showed us a couple of pieces by Shoji Hamada and they were wonderful. Does anyone own any Hamada?
